Top garment (RMG) companies in Bangladesh

· Ranking

Ready-made garments are Bangladesh's biggest export. Here are the groups behind it, and the facts that put the industry in a class of its own.

The industry in three facts

  • Bangladesh is the world's second-largest exporter of clothing after China. WTO data for 2025 put its share at about 6.8 percent of world clothing exports, only just ahead of Vietnam.
  • It has more green factories than any other country: 273 garment factories certified under the US Green Building Council's LEED standard as of January 2026, 115 of them Platinum, according to BGMEA. The number has kept rising since.
  • The same BGMEA statement says 69 of the world's 100 highest-rated green factories are in Bangladesh.

Why there is no top-10 by size

Almost all garment groups are privately owned and do not publish their sales, and neither BGMEA nor the Export Promotion Bureau publishes exports by company. Any “top 10 by revenue” you see online is a guess. So the groups below are listed in alphabetical order. Each is a large, long-established exporter, and each has its own page in the city.
